Great list! And I liked hearing you talk about them on the podcast as well. 150 Books is wowza!! Congrats on a great reading year. I’d like to get to many of these that you list, particularly: Memphis, Trust, and Demon Copperhead. But others too. I don’t have my Best Of list out yet — but it’ll be from 65 books this year, lol. Glad you are digging retirement!

I love your reviews, Susie, on this blog, as well as on Sarah’s podcast! You go out on a limb more often than I do: see Demon Copperhead, I’m afraid to start it. But I would like to read all of your top 4 (at least) on the list. Oh, and I have Our Missing Hearts on hold at Cloud Library. Oddly, neither my sister nor I, longtime Anne Tyler fans, liked French Braid, we can’t even remember what it was about. But I loved her last two, especially Redhead by the Side of the Road!
My favorites this year would be Project Hail Mary (tops!), Apples Never Fall (2nd), Lessons in Chemistry 3rd, and in no particular order: The Maid, These Precious Days, The Bullet That Missed, The Love of My Life, The Unseen World, Mary Jane, The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, and The Palace Papers, as well as the graphic memoir, Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant? by Roz Chast.

What a fabulous list, Susie! Demon Copperhead was definitely a hit for me – absolutely loved the audio – and both The Measure and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow will make my top five for the year. Always love to see your lists!!
