I loved this book! All of it except for the Thailand aspect (hopefully I’m not in the minority). For me, that part was a little too sudden, though I understand why the author moved in that direction. I liked Rosie and Penn’s mentality and how they prioritized Poppy’s happiness within the mores of society.

This looks like such a fun, yet with serious tones, book. I’ve seen some great ratings for this one, and it’s on my list. I’m just not sure when it will be read.

You know, lots of people have mentioned the Thailand trip as something that annoyed them. It wasn’t my favorite part of the book (but it did kind of make sense with that country’s gender norms), but the fairy tale annoyed me much more. Every time Penn started in on the fairytale, I was just itching to get back to the regular story.
