Great post, Susie! You've worked through a lot of these books, and I like how you've really taken the time with them. So many are on my list! I listened to So You Want to Talk About Race, which was excellent, but I also realized after listening that I'd like to have them in hard copy--there's so much I want to highlight and return to. I'll definitely be coming back to this post as I continue to read and learn as well.

What a great post - thank you. We are currently reading Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi out loud together as a family. It has been a great experience for all of us and has helped us have important conversations with our daughters. I just finished listening to The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander. It was an eye opening look at mass incarceration and the war on drugs. I highly recommend it. And if you haven't read Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson, that is one not to miss as well. White Fragility and How to Be an Antiracist are up next for me. Much to learn and understand!

Great post. I like your commitment to learning more about racism ... and how you've given us a sample takeaway from each book. There's a good discussion out there right now ... that needs to keep going.
