I agree the The Underground Railroad might have worked better in print, though I still enjoyed it.

Wasn’t My Friend Anna crazy?! I’m glad the narration wasn’t a problem for you. Her voice wore on me a bit, never enough to stop listening. Just a generational thing.

Maybe it was the detailed plot. I still need to go back & read it. But I admired the Nickel Boys. I just refreshed my memory of the Underground Railroad after a book on Harriet Tubman, which was lively & great.
