In reply to susan. I was so happy to see that you enjoyed The River. I feel like I've been talking that one up everywhere I go. I agree that City of Thieves feels like a winter book, but I read it in the summer, so always associate it there.

So many books on here that I hadn’t heard of. Except, of course, The River, for which I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. I never would have picked it up on my own but I loved it.

I definitely need to dive into the thrillers. I need story over character right now. Too many, dep, slow novels lately.

I need to get together my list for which novels I want to get to this summer. I’m on a long library wait list for The Silent Patient so that seems a good summer read. I also liked The River, which would have made a good summer read too. I loved the novel City of Thieves but it seems like a winter read to me …. with the Siege of Leningrad & the freezing conditions, but it is a fast & compelling read. Thx for this good list, I’ve read a few: Daisy Jones, The Current and The Dreamers. All enjoyable.
