Thx for talking about the drawbacks on this one — all I’ve heard is all the buzz so I’m glad you warned me a bit. I’m on the list for it — but now more tepid about it.

This book is getting a huge amount of hype, which generally makes me suspicious. My Sunday paper today (SF) had a review that was salivating over it. Reminds me of “The Goldfinch.”

To be honest, a book about Alzheimers doesn’t make me say “ooohhh, gotta read that.”

I have so much on my library holds and TBR list that I’m going to give this a pass. Thanks for a review which gave me the courage to do so. I’ve got to become more discriminating! (I too think a book written exclusively in diary entries has big hurdles to overcome.)
