Great review! I love books that are poetic and well written. And this one seems to have addressed some grave issues (AIDS) as well. Also both the books that you’ve mentioned as similar books are on my TBR.

Thank you for the book review. Your review gives me the courage to maybe read this book. I tend to shy away from reading fiction that is heavy or sad. I lived through the aids crisis in the 80’s as a straight teenager. My generation learned that getting pregnant wasn’t the worst thing that could happen to you that there were incurable diseases out there that could literally kill you. That was such a sad/horrible time in our history at least people now can live with the disease.
