Know My Name is certainly the best memoir (and maybe the best book) I've read this year-- Chanel's inner journey was so well articulated and compelling. I don't know if I've read any other memoir that analyzes trauma in such an impactful way. I thought the audiobook itself was a testament to her strength: the fact that she could read her story in her own voice, that she could revisit these years of inequity and still find goodness and kindness around her. Just an excellent memoir by an exceptional young writer and (hopefully) future leader.

I had the same thing (similar reading happening one right after the other) with She Said and Burn it Down. Honestly, I think women are finally speaking out more. Enough is enough.

Your review of Know My Name is fascinating. I'm adding this to my TBR but will probably wait until next year. I know it's important, but I'm almost overwhelmed by all these narratives.

The two who first went on the record were Ashley Judd and a woman who'd worked in the London office, but no longer had anything to do with the film industry, so felt she could risk it. After those two? MANY more!

I've been really drawn to investigative reporting recently, and I've been curious about She Said, so I'm glad to hear that the narration is good, since I've been moving more towards audio books as my life gets busier and finding the time and energy to read has been getting more difficult.

So how did they finally get actresses to go on the record against Weinstein? I guess it was Ashley Judd who finally spoke out first. The investigative journalism parts interest me. I will likely have to get She Said. I saw the Memoir author on PBS ... sounded like a really ugly trial but glad she was vindicated.
