I’ve been meaning to read this one, but it’s interesting that you and other readers found the political asides to be so unconnected to the rest. I sometimes read certain books and wonder if the author really had a couple of different book ideas, but couldn’t figure out how to make each one stand by itself.

So true about the random political asides! They almost seemed like they were in there by accident…I couldn’t figure it out! Then I wondered if my ARC was formatted incorrectly. They didn’t make sense to me.

This was one of those books that I was considering buying based on the cover. I’m glad I waited to read several reviews, because I think the style of the writing would drive me crazy. So, thanks for saving me a few dollars 🙂

I don’t think I’d enjoy this format either… sounds pretty weird :/ And if it’s a story about grief… I find this kind of books too sad 🙁
