I love mini-reviews, and I love your clearing the shelf review idea! I’ve only been blogging for a few months. and I already almost burned out on it because I thought if I bothered to review anything it had to be super detailed and perfect. I’m trying to loosen up and remember that this is supposed to be fun and a way of sharing my thoughts, not a contest for the best review prize (which doesn’t exist of course, ha ha).

Sally Hepworth is hit or miss for me. I liked The Secret of Midwives okay, and DNF The Things We Keep.

It was a good way to tackle three books I finished, but didn’t want to devote a solo review to. Plus, it was nice to get three done in a single shot! (Renee loved The Family Next Door, so you should take a look at her review before deciding.)

I need to do one of these! They are piling up. I was hoping you were going to say you loved The Family Next Door. My copy is sitting here on the desk as I write this. I’ll give it a try but I may be more open to letting it go if it doesn’t work for me after reading your review.

I actually DNFed The Lost Girls of Camp Forevermore after about 30 pages. It was definitely not what I was expecting. Like you, I thought it was going to be a survival story and when it went off on the first tangent all the way to the first girl’s adult life, it lost me.
