I saw your review of Beartown a while back and was with you on it, but then I kept reading so many good reviews so gave it a whirl. I don’t read many sports books, but loved this one.

Daring to Drive reminds me of Born a Crime, not for the humor, but because it’s also a story of a person who is completely dismissed by society because of who they are. I think you’d like it.
