I always find that so disappointing because I feel like the editor let the book down, not the author.

It’s not odd at all! I have liked many of her books but the era doesn’t really appeal to me either. I did read a bit about the controversy. I think I’ll return it to the library and maybe try it this summer when I have more reading time (I’m a teacher too). Enjoy your grandkids!

I’m happy to hear from someone else who didn’t like Maybe…I was beginning to feel like the only one. Daisy Jones gave me a hangover twice this year, first in print and then on audio. I have my son listening to it now and he loves it, too. I’m a middle school math teacher, but don’t think I could handle listening to a book about math! Have a great week.

This may sound odd, but I’ve never read Jojo Moyes before and hadn’t really planned on reading The Giver of Stars because that era just doesn’t usually appeal to me. Now with all the controversy around it, I’m not quite sure if that makes me more or less interested.
