We don’t know what the holidays will look like. We were only allowed up to her room because we were moving her in and we’d each passed two COVID tests. Even if we’re in her town right now, we can only do a half hour distance visit in a common room. I don’t know what that will mean for the holidays. None of us live there and I think if we take her away, she has to quarantine for 2 weeks. It’s a mess! Thanks for asking.

I think you’re a lot more independent than my mom! The virus, definitely made the move a challenge. We all had to get tested where we live and then tested again at the facility as soon as we got to town. Best to be safe.

I have been at my assisted living facility for almost a year and a half and had settled in nicely, with enough independence that I started enjoying it. Then the Pandemic! So there went the independence, as we have been locked down to the facility since March. But we are having fewer restrictions in the community, with activities, etc.

Hopefully the virus will eventually go away, but our lives are definitely different.
