Great review. I loved this book too. But funny enough, I wanted a bit more of the historical aspects. I felt there was too little of them (I agree that there was too little of them to have an impact on Yejide and Akin’s story) and wanted some more passages on that.

In reply to renee. Honestly, the book had very little focus on the polygamy. The blurb makes it seem like a huge factor in the story, but it really wasn't.

Very well-thought out review! Excellent point about that gut-punch of a title. It really is perfect! Every time I hear/read the title it brings back the intense emotions I felt while reading the story.

Hmmm… This one sounds very interesting. Though it sounds like it wasn’t perfect, it’s certainly an original (at least to me) story.

I heard about this one on a podcast and wondered about it. While it sounds interesting, I think what bothered you would really bother me as well. I’m not so sure about the polygamy concept either but I am somewhat curious about the secrets!
