Much more “lust” than “love” in this story. Unbelievable plot which might have inched toward a modicum of realism if the characters weren’t such cardboard cutouts. Elise (the BROWN girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Jamey (HUNKIE rich Yalie). And that was that. They never varied from their scripts. I never understood their “love.” I couldn’t understand why they were together (or even better, why they stayed together).

The prose was horribly forced. The whole thing was a terrible mash-up for me. I know I’m in the minority here, but this was a hot mess.
