I think a lot of readers are tiring of the “girl” books, but your list reminded me that there are some really good ones–and some I still want to read (Girl at War, The Good Girl, and Lilac Girls). As far as the “big two,” I thought Gone Girl was amazing, but I did not like The Girl on the Train at all.

Forgot to mention that I also found The Girl on the Train mediocre – that eye-roll inducing ending, ugh!
I enjoyed The Good Girl too and now I’m even more excited to read The Lilac Girls 🙂

It’s so nice to hear from someone else who didn’t care for The Girls. At the time I felt like I was the only one. I think we’re also starting to see a lot of titles with Wife in them.
