Having been a teacher almost all of my adult life, grading is a natural way for me to rate things. Grades were what I used when I started journaling about books and they’re what you’ll see here.
A’s – Books in the A range are OUTSTANDING stories, that I could hardly put down, and most highly recommend. These books awe me!
B’s – Books in the B range I thoroughly enjoyed and also recommend, but for me they may not have quite had that extra layer of wonder.
C’s – The rare C book might be one that started out strong for me, but then fell short. It’s one that I probably would not recommend to most people.
D’s and below – You won’t see any of these on Novel Visits for three reasons. First, I don’t believe in finishing books I’m not enjoying. There are far too many wonderful novels published every month to force myself through a story that isn’t grabbing me. Second, I admire writers too much to be critical of a product that a person put so much of himself or herself into. And finally, I know that me not liking a book means little. Others will love the same book and I don’t want to get in the way of anyone’s reading pleasure.
