Hyped books! With so many out there every single year, all that hype can be a blessing or a curse. When a great book intersects with a boatload of hype, readers are happy and sales can soar. It’s a win, win! On the flip side, when pre-publication hype gets readers excited, anxious to dive into a book, and then it disappoints, it almost hurts. As a reader you might feel a little cheated having expected SO much and then the book not quite delivering. When you cross a book like this with a favorite author and it gets down right painful! Today, I’m sharing a dozen hyped books from 2020, half lived up to all that hype, and the other half didn’t quite do it for me.

Novel Visits ~ Summer Preview 2020 | More

The summer of 2020 is going to be a very different summer, for sure. It’s already the end of May and I have no idea what I’ll be doing when school gets out in a couple weeks. What I don’t want to do is stay home the entire time! Eventually I suppose I’ll figure something out, but the one thing I know I can count on is plenty of summer reading. Whether I’m at home or away books are always my constant companions and that’s even more true in the summer when time is on my side. For many of us spring reading has been tough, really tough. Maybe it was the books, but more likely it was us and the season of quarantine and coronavirus. Hopefully, all of us will have much better luck with the books in this year’s Summer Preview!…

Beach Bag Books 2020 | More

There’s no denying it. This is an insane year! With many of us still under stay-at-home orders and many more still social distancing, lots of vacations just won’t happen this year. We’d all love to head to a dreamy beach destination, but that might have to be a little sand and your kids’ blow up pool! No matter what your summer might look like, I hope summer books and reading will be a part of your plan.

I’ve managed to round up 20 books that could make for some great summer reading. The first 15 are all from 2020 and include three categories: Mystery & Thrillers, Loving Literary, and Delightfully Different. The final 5 are all recent Backlist Beauties that I hadn’t yet read when putting together last year’s Beach Bag Books.

Novel Visits ~ Winter Preview 2020 | More

Can you believe that it’s already Winter Preview time? Ready or not, it is and that means it’s time to take a break from the chaos of the Holiday Season, and turn our attention to the New Year. Come January things will be slower, calmer. The weather will often force us to cancel plans and stay inside for days at a time. Doesn’t that sound perfect right about now? You know what will make it even more perfect? Great books to read! Lucky for all of us that winter is also one of the times of year when great new books are being published at a furious rate. So, sit back, grab a warm beverage of your choice, and take a look at the sixteen winter books I’m featuring in my Winter Preview 2020. May you find many you can’t wait to read!
