Some people enjoy seeing a movie they love again and again, or are fine with watching reruns of a favorite show. Others can revisit a book that resonated with them multiple times. I’m not one of those people! No matter what the format, I rarely have any desire to return to a story where I already know the outcome. Last fall, I made an exception and reread The Secret History by Donna Tartt and to my great relief, I enjoyed it almost as much as the first time around. So, for today’s Top Ten Tuesday (hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl) I’m highlighting other books I’d really like to read a second time.

When considering book, I only looked at ones published in the last ten years, and I excluded any that I’d read in the last couple years. Still, narrowing my choices down to ten proved to be much harder than I’d expected! …

The end of November is upon us, so lets hope we’re ready! I hope the long Thanksgiving weekend was restful and productive for those of you lucky enough to have all four days free. (Really? Can we ever be free this time of year?) The long weekend was exactly what I needed to be ready to face the three weeks left before Winter Break. My Christmas shopping is 90% done and the part that was the most fun was choosing books for my 4 grandkids, all under 5. I’m so excited about my choices that I may feature them in an upcoming Top Ten Tuesday.

Happy Thanksgiving week to everyone in the U.S. This week marks the official start of the holiday season and all the craziness that brings with it. I think many of us have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the holidays. So much of the time is just plain wonderful, but the trek through shopping and increased social obligations can be daunting. Since I’m not hosting Thanksgiving this year, I’m hoping for a pretty chill start to the holidays. If all goes as planned, the long weekend will include lots of reading time with one of my very favorite books!

I finished Heather, the Totality by Matthew Weiner early in the week. This debut by the creator of Mad Men completely underwhelmed me. …
