As some of you might know, I have a real thing for debuts. I think that debuts are often an author’s best work, so I’m constantly on the look out for first novels, that pique my interest. Oooh – I’ll have to check out Brass! I included Girls Burn Brighter and Tangerine on my Most Anticipated List. And Peach looks interesting too!
Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Susie says
I’m in the middle of Brass right now and really like it. Can’t wait to read Tangerine.
Angela says
The Girlfriend is one that’s on my list – I love psychological thrillers, and this one involves family relationships I don’t normally see.
Susie says
I seem to have more psychological thrillers than usual on my TBR list, so I hope they pan out.
Ann Marie says
I’ve got a copy of The Woman in the Window as well. Looks like a winner to me too. Sadness is a White Bird looks great as well.
Susie says
I’ll be curious to hear what you think of The Woman in the Window. For me it had a couple flaws.
RK says
Great list! I’m also always on the lookout for debuts. Looking forward to several on your list, like The Woman in the Window and Girls Burn Brighter. P.S., thanks for all your great recommendations throughout 2017, several of which I read and loved.

That is so nice to hear. Thank you!

THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW is on my TTT list today. It sounds SO good! There are lots of other great-looking debuts on this list. Wow. Thanks for the heads-up!

YAY! I just read about Brass a few days ago and I’m excited about that one; I’m glad to see it’s on your list, too!

Oooooh, I just added several to my TBR. Girls Burn Brighter is especially popping out to me. I used to be more wary of debuts, thinking surely the author’s later work should be better. I learned recently how wrong I was. It’s the sophomore slump book I should be avoiding! Ha ha, just kidding. Anyway, I just recently started reading book blogs and am really enjoying yours. Thanks for the great list here!
Susie says
No, I think you’re right about the sophomore slump books. Too often debuts are amazing and then the next book only so-so. Thank you for your kind words about my blog. That’s exactly why I do it!
