I don’t know about you, but I am SO over winter! Thank goodness spring is officially only five short days away. As down as I am on winter right now, I do have to admit that my reading was pretty darn good. I read four books that will be in the running for my 2019’s Best Books of the Year list, and three of those were featured on my Winter Preview 2019. I hope the books on my Spring Preview 2019 bring me the same sort of reading pleasure. It’s always tough for me to narrow these lists down and that was especially true of April releases, so today I’m sharing a whopping 18 books to read this spring. Enjoy!

Sarah's Book Shelves says
Oooh – I didn’t realize there was a new Blake Crouch coming!
And Cape May is on my list too – and Places & Names obviously!
Susie says
I look forward to talking about those books and many more with you ANY season!
renee says
Susie as usual your graphics are awesome! I’m excited about Spring along several of these…The Editor, Cape May, Miracle Creek, and Recursion top my list. I hadn’t heard of The Ash Family but I’m interested. Here’s to great spring reading
Susie says
Thanks, Renee. As you know I love doing the graphics, so it’s always nice to hear it looks good. Yes, let’s hope spring reading is good to us all.
RK says
Fantastic list! I’m most looking forward to My Lovely Wife, Trust Exercise, Miracle Creek, and The Night Before.
Susie says
My review of My Lovely Wife is actually posting on Thursday. (I liked it very much.) It will be fun to talk spring books with you.
Amy @ Read a Latte says
I am SO excited for Mostly Dead Things! Kristen Arnett makes me laugh every day on twitter, and I imagine her writing will be just as enjoyable.
Susie says
I don’t follow Kristen Arnett and Twiter. Sounds like I’d better fix that ASAP!
Lauren says
I am usually put off by novels that are pushed really hard, but I have to say MIRACLE CREEK did not disappoint. I loved it and highly recommend. The other on this list I’m really looking forward to is ROUGH MAGIC, and I’m tempted to give MY LOVELY WIFE a try based on some early buzz from trusted sources.
Susie says
I’m so happy to hear that you’ve already read AND liked Miracle Creek. I completely agree about being fearful of over-hyped books. If you come back on Thursday, my review of My Lovely Wife will be up.
Lauren says
I will definitely take a peek at what you think about WIFE. I don’t like to read reviews before I pick something up, but you always give enough information outside your full review that gives me a gut reaction, which I appreciate. 🙂
susan says
Thanks for the Spring List! I’m quite over winter as well. All the snow is melting here now, pretty quickly. I think I’m most curious on this list about : Trust Exercises. Got to see if that is any good.
Susie says
Here’s to the end of winter!
Angela says
I’m so excited about Blake Crouch’s new one!
Susie says
I’ve never read Crouch, but look forward to giving him a try.
Madeline says
“Mostly Dead Things” reminds me of “Daisy Faye and the Miracle Man” which I loved so much. That one is a definite.
I have a couple of the early ones on hold already.
Thanks for the update!
Susie says
You’re welcome, Madeline. Hope your spring reading is awesome.
Beth F says
Our lists overlap a bit … but I still found a couple new ones to add my list. I passed on Naamah. I need to look into Cape May.
Susie says
Why did you pass on Naamah? Had you heard some negatives?
Beth F says
No but I’ve read a similar book … umm can’t remember the title. The story was told from wife and daughters-in-law’s viewpoints. Thought maybe this would be more of the same.
Rachel @ Never Enough Novels says
I like how you listed a few “draws” for each new book coming out! That’s such a helpful way to get an idea of whether I want to read it. I received an actual physical ARC of The Farm (hooray!!!) so I can’t wait to read that one.
Susie says
Thanks, Rachel. I appreciate knowing that the way I do my previews works for others. I’m excited about The Farm, too. Lucky you to have a physical copy!
Catherine says
We have a fair amount of overlap but in April only- which means we can vet May books for each other!
In May, I’m excited about Disappearing Earth and Rules for Visiting.
Susie says
I will definitely read Disappearing Earth, too, but my list was SO long! I’m always excited to talk books with you. Here’s to great spring reading!

I NEED Mostly Dead Things. Can’t wait to get it. Also, a story from Noah’s wife’s perspective sounds pretty interesting. Hope you love all of these!

I’d read Mostly Dead Things right now if I didn’t have a ridiculous amount of April ARCs to get through! Thanks for stopping by.

I’m incredibly curious about The Farm. Definitely need to read that one.
My Top Ten Tuesday post.
Valerie S. says
