How’s your February reading going? I hope it’s on fire, and if it is maybe you can give me some suggestions! I seem to have read a lot of blah books recently and we all know how frustrating that can be, but things are looking up. I’m currently both reading and listening to books I really like and I think my upcoming reads will be good, too.

I’m excited about this week for a couple of reasons. First, I have a really fun sort of Valentine’s Day post to share with you this week. It’s my only other post this week and will be up tomorrow. Second, my sister is coming for a visit. She’s flying in on Thursday and I have an extra long weekend for some fun girl time. We’re hardly ever together with just the two of us, so I’m very excited to get her to myself for a few days. May you have a wonderful week, too!

I hope everyone’s fall is off to a great start. September is always a bit of a bumpy month for me. Getting used to a routine again after a couple months without one seems to take me a little longer every year. Couple that with lots of meetings and it makes for some pretty long days. During stressful times books become even more of an escape for me than usual. I may not have as much time as I’d like with them, but getting lost in a book is always a huge comfort for me.

Ahhhh, summer! Where did you go? If you’re anything like me, you’re in a little bit of mourning over the end of summer. I know it’s technically got a few more weeks, but September never feels like summer to me. My August started out with a sprained wrist, a black eye and stitches in my forehead, so it could only go up form there! And it did, including getting through nine books, at least one of which will likely end up on my “best of 2018” list this year. With nine books a month for the last three months, I’m now about ten books ahead on my Goodreads goal for the year. (Good thing because fall is always busy!) I hope your August in books and life was wonderful.

As much as I adore summer (and I really adore summer), there are still great things to be said about the fall. With back-to-school, Halloween and the other holidays it’s a time of year that really focuses on kids and family. As the days grow shorter and the weather turns bleaker, fall becomes the perfect time of year to work in a little extra reading time. Fall also marks a time of year when we often see incredible new books published, and this year is no exception. So, grab a cup of coffee or tea, snuggle in and peruse some of the books I’m most looking forward to reading this fall.

Sometimes the reviews get really stacked up and this summer has been one of those times. I start to feel a lot of anxiety when I have too many books I’ve yet to share, so I’m being good to myself today and covering four books I’ve yet to review. In this summer assortment, I think you’ll find a little something for almost anyone’s reading taste!…

You’ve got to love April! Even if much of the month is rainy (or even snowy) and gray, sunshine still manages to prevail many days bringing with it all the promises of spring and summer. My very favorite location to read is outside on my front porch. At the beginning of the month that porch was a mess. but now it’s gorgeous. Every chance I get, I’ll be out there reading for the next five months. Yay! April turned out to be a ten book month for me with several that I’m still thinking about. I hope your reading was just as successful.

Two year ago, when I first began thinking about what I’d want this blog to look like, one of the things I knew I wanted to include was some favorite book quotes. You see those on the right side of many pages on Novel Visits. At the time, I generated a HUGE list of bookish quotes that spoke to me. The ones I chose for the blog were favorites, but also ones that fit well into the spaces. There wasn’t nearly enough room to include all the quotes that resonated with me, so when I saw that today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic was “Favorite Book Quotes” I was thrilled. Finally! That Artsy Reader Girl has given me the opportunity to highlight more bookish quotes I love. Narrowing down the list was not easy, but here are twelve that i think will speak to most book lovers.

The obvious –
