I don’t know about you, but I feel like 2022 has been an excellent year for books so far. It started out with a bang and some great winter releases, then into spring where April might have been one of the strongest months for new releases in YEARS! Now as spring is winding down, Memorial Day weekend is upon us, and we’re headed into summer books it’s looking like that good 2022 book juju just might continue. June alone looks insane with incredible sounding books, and July and August aren’t bad either. No matter what you might be doing this summer, you’ll want to keep this Summer Preview 2022 handy, so you can put in library requests, Libby holds, or maybe even splurge on a few new books to read on vacation. Beach Bag Books 2022

It’s looking like this summer might be a huge season for traveling. We’ve all been stuck at home far too often these last couple of years and now with things a little more stable, it’s time to GO! I have vacation fun going on at least half the summer and in October I’ll finally be traveling internationally again with two weeks in Morocco. What are your travel plans for 2022? I’m betting no matter what they are, a little extra reading time will be on the agenda.

Today I’m sharing my Beach Bag Books 2022 guide which features 27 books that will make for great summer reading no mater where you’re headed. This year’s books are broken down into four categories, including three that highlight 2022 books: Smart Suspense, Loving Literary, and Delightfully Different. The final category, Backlist Beauties is made up of books from 2021 which I read after last year’s Beach Bag Books.

I’ll be talking about many of these books and some that you don’t see here on the May 18th episode of Sarah’s Bookshelves Live. Between Sarah and myself, your summer TBR list is going to explode!…

I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for summer and vacation season! I don’t even care that much what I’ll be doing. Like the rest of you, I’m just looking forward to that move toward a more normal life. Isn’t it finally starting to feel like we can relax a little? Wherever I am and whatever else I might be doing, I know that books will be a huge part of my summer, and this summer there are SO MANY great books to choose from. Let me tell you, it was no easy task narrowing my Summer Preview 2021, to these 20 books. I really hope you find many to add to your own summer reading list….

Beach Bag Books 2020 | More

There’s no denying it. This is an insane year! With many of us still under stay-at-home orders and many more still social distancing, lots of vacations just won’t happen this year. We’d all love to head to a dreamy beach destination, but that might have to be a little sand and your kids’ blow up pool! No matter what your summer might look like, I hope summer books and reading will be a part of your plan.

I’ve managed to round up 20 books that could make for some great summer reading. The first 15 are all from 2020 and include three categories: Mystery & Thrillers, Loving Literary, and Delightfully Different. The final 5 are all recent Backlist Beauties that I hadn’t yet read when putting together last year’s Beach Bag Books.

Aah, summer! It’s my favorite season for so many reasons, and the long days with extra hours to read books has to be at the top of that list. With Memorial Day weekend about to begin, we mark the unofficial start of summer. What could be better than that? Whether your summer plans involve a trip abroad, a family reunion, long weekends at a camp ground, road trips, or just enjoying the comfort of your own front porch, I hope the pleasure of great beach bag books will be part of your summer fun.

Today, I’m happy to be sharing 20 books to tuck into your beach bag, backpack, purse or pocket. The first 15 books are all from 2019 and I’ve divided those into three categories that I hope will have something perfect for everyone. Many thanks for all the good wishes on the first birthday of Novel Visits last week. It’s a lovely milestone to mark, but really just another day that finds us all on the hunt for our next great read! That and the Fourth of July made for a really fun week, where I was able to fit in a lot of reading time. This week will be very different. In fact, I’ll be surprised if I even finish one book. I’m taking my mom on a whirlwind week of visiting her great grandchildren (who also happen to be my grandbabies). This past weekend was spent with the one here in Washington and we fly out to Montana tomorrow to see the other two. Very special times, but not quiet times!
