Favorite Books of December 2022

December tends to be a slower publishing month, so I was a bit worried I’d not have three favorites to share this month. Thanks to a couple books I missed earlier this year, plus an absolutely sensational December book, I’ve got three great book recommendations. In case you missed it, I posted both my Best Books of 2022 and My Favorite Debuts of 2022 last week. They’re both fun lists, but I may be biased.

Favorite Books of October 2022

I have had quite a month and it has little to do with books. For the first time in well over three years I traveled outside the United States, spending two wonderful weeks in Morocco. We traversed the country by car which at times was an adventure in itself. This was a bucket list trip for me and it did not disappoint. I’ve been asked over and over what I liked the best, but the list is far too long. For cites, Marrakesh and Chefchaouen top the list, but the Sahara and the High Atlas Mountains with their beautiful gorges were also wonderful. The delicious food and many kind, friendly people were true highlights. It’s definitely a trip I’ll never forget!

Despite the travel, I did manage to read some books this month and am very excited to share my favorite three with you today. All were written by authors I’ve read and loved before, so expectations were high and they did not disappoint! These three books could not be more different, yet each was wonderful in its own way. It’s the last day of the year. FINALLY! Enough said about the woes of 2020, so I’ll move on to five 2020 books that I’ve read in the last month or so. Most are books I missed earlier in the year, and one is a book I returned to after quitting on last summer. (Something I never do.) These won’t be my last 2020 books to share. As I write this I’m listening to another 2020 book, but for the most part I’ve moved on to 2021 releases which I’ll begin sharing next week. Next week I’ll also be looking at My Year in Books 2020, My Goals for 2021, so stop on by and see how I did. Now let’s get on to today’s reviews!…

FIVE BOOKS TO READ NOW! August 2020 Book Reviews

For an entire month this summer, including the first three weeks of August, I was lucky enough to be away from home spending time with family. This gave me the much needed break from living alone all spring and facing a fall of teaching online once again. I did work a few days during that time, but mostly enjoyed more conversations, more great food, and much more wine than usual. Of course, I also managed to squeeze in some great reading, that I’m excited to be sharing with you today. I suspect one of these books may end up on my Best Books of 2020 list come December!…
